Eligibility
To be eligible for Stanford University Scholarships, you must meet the following criteria:

- It would be best if you thought with first-step ability, seeking information and experiences with fresh ideas that make sense of complex circumstances and can hold an opposing or contrary point of view.
- First/Bachelor’s degree earned in 2015 or later; to enroll in 2022. You can apply if you submit your application within four years and then enroll within five years following the time you have earned your first or Bachelor’s degree.
- It is essential to complete your Knight-Hennessy Scholars form and the whole application process. This includes any test you take that is standardized as your graduate program requires (GMAT, LSAT, GRE, MCAT, etc.) and, if necessary, the English aptitude test.
- It would be best if you were ambitious in the true sense, motivated to grow, and willing to try new things. Self-aware, persistent, and bounces back from challenges. Personally humble and compassionate to all, respectful of differences, concerned about and helpful to all others, and low self-esteem.
- You must be proficient in English; listening, reading, speaking, and writing to pursue a degree at Stanford. The minimum score required for TOEFL in most master’s programs offered at Stanford will be 100iBT, or 600PBT. - Before applying to Knight-Hennessy Scholars, it is necessary to apply to, be accepted by, and enroll in a full-time Stanford Graduate degree course. The Knight-Hennessy Scholar you are applying to is a newly enrolled student in the Stanford graduate program that includes DMA, JD, MA, MBA, MD, MFA, MPP, MS, or PhD degrees. There are no quotas for any of the disciplines or programs. It is important to note that they will prioritize those who spend more than two years of study at Stanford.
How to Apply for Stanford University Scholarships
The following are the instructions you need to follow to apply for the scholarship successfully:
1. You must create an account here and start your online application.
2. Complete and submit an online application to be considered for admission (including your academic and personal information). The University will require basic demographic and biographical information and details of your work and areas of interest.
3. You must submit the following documents:
- A self-reported or unofficial record of the academic achievements in college and, if applicable, graduate school for each institution that you attended for an academic year or more. You can download the self-reported template if you’re unable to provide an official transcript. The transcript should contain, if appropriate, the degree awarded and the date of conferral. They do not require transcripts from studies abroad when those credits are listed in your official transcript.
- Your resume will consist of that outlines your intellectual professional, and personal experiences and accomplishments. They recommend one page per 10 years of experience that you have gained after secondary school.
- Two recommendation letters. Know more about it here.
- Essay (You can submit up to 1750 words in both essay) Include the following:
1. Connect the dots. How have the influences in your life shaped you?
2. What will you do to pursue your passions in life? How can your Stanford education and Knight-Hennessy Scholars experience help you achieve this?
- Two quick answer responses: They would like to know eight interesting facts about yourself. Give them three goals/objectives you’re working towards right currently (being admitted into Stanford or being selected as a Knight-Hennessy Scholar doesn’t be considered one of these objectives).
- Video story: The story should be at most two minutes long. If you’re only required to speak for 30 seconds to respond to a question, it’s okay. There’s no expectation or requirement to speak for the total time.
- In-person assessment.
